What we cover

A maths-first agency, and
we mean maths.

Every tutor is a mathematician who has sat the exact exam your child is facing. Whatever the paper, from before GCSE to beyond A-Level, we match your child to the tutor who has already aced it.

Meet your tutors

They sat these exact papers. Recently. And
aced them.

Not career tutors reading from a textbook. Cambridge and Bath students who sat these papers a year or two ago, and still know exactly what the examiner rewards.

The approach

One student, one goal, and a tutor who fits.

Tutors who have been there

Cambridge and Bath, and the precise exams your child is sitting. Not a gap-year generalist.

Genuinely one-to-one

No group calls, no recycled slide decks. Every session is built around one student and one goal.

Built around your child

Practice is set to each student's exact weak spots every week, aimed at the marks they are dropping, not generic textbook exercises.

Matched to the exam

At Locus Tutors, we pair each student with the tutor built for their paper, by subject and target, not by who is free.

Rates run from £40 to £60 a lesson depending on the exam, agreed before any paid sessions. No fine print, no hidden fees.

The free lesson

The new school year is here.
Let’s make sure your child is ready.

Here is exactly what your free first lesson looks like. A full hour, no script, no pressure.

MINUTES 0–15

We get up to speed: the exam, the year, the target and where your child is right now. The tutor finds the gaps before teaching a thing.

MINUTES 15–55

The real lesson. Your child is taught properly on their own material, so you judge the teaching first-hand rather than a pitch for it.

MINUTES 55–60

We talk to you: an honest read on where they are, the plan we would put in place and the tutor we would match. You decide, no chase.

Questions

The honest answers, before you book.

Are sessions online?
Online and UK-wide, scheduled around school and mocks. Working online lets us match your child with the right specialist for their exam, rather than whoever happens to live nearby.
How do I pay?
A simple weekly amount, set up once after the free first lesson, so you never have to chase an invoice. No long contract, and you can pause or stop whenever you need.
Which exam boards do you cover?
All the major boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR and MEI, plus TMUA and Oxbridge admissions maths. Tell us the board on your call and we match accordingly.
How often should lessons be?
Usually one focused hour a week. Steady weekly work beats last-minute cramming, and we step it up around mocks and finals when it counts.
Do you set work between lessons?
Yes: targeted past-paper practice aimed at the exact marks being dropped, never busywork, plus our 500+ worked-solution packs to practise from. If your child is stuck midweek, they can message their tutor at no extra charge.
Can we switch tutors?
Any time, and with no awkwardness. Your child is matched to the tutor built for their exam and target, and if the fit ever changes we rematch at no cost.
What if it is not the right fit?
We match by the exact exam and the goal, not by who is free. If the first lesson is not right, it is on us, and we will sort the match, no fuss.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
More than 24 hours’ notice and we will move the lesson, no charge. Inside 24 hours a small fee applies, the tutor’s slot is already set aside by then. Either way, we would far rather reschedule than run a distracted lesson.
When should we start?
Sooner is cheaper than later. Consistent weekly work beats last-minute cramming, and it lets us build the trajectory rather than paper over gaps.
